WooCommerce hosting questions
What is WooCommerce hosting?
WooCommerce is the most widely used shop solution for WordPress. WooCommerce hosting is hosting set up and run specifically for online shops: enough memory, a fast cache, scheduled tasks that actually run, and backups and updates that don’t put your orders at risk.
Which payment solutions can I use?
Vipps is installed and ready if you tick it when creating the shop – you just add your Vipps keys. You can install Klarna, Stripe, Nets and other WooCommerce extensions yourself as usual.
Which plan suits an online shop?
Start is enough for a single simple shop. Pro gives room for more websites and more storage, and works well if you want a separate staging copy of the shop. Every plan includes backups, scanning and free dev and staging within your storage quota.
What happens to orders when I publish from staging?
When you publish a staging copy of a shop, we suggest “files only”: theme, plugins and WordPress are copied, while the live database – with orders, customers and stock – stays as it is. Live is backed up first either way.
What if an update breaks the checkout?
After every update we check both the front page and the checkout. If the checkout doesn’t respond, the shop is rolled back automatically to the backup taken right before the update.
Can you move my shop?
Yes, for free. Move it yourself with the WP24 Flytt plugin, or let us do it. For shops we agree on a time, so no orders end up on the old server after the copy is taken.
Where are customer data and orders stored?
Everything – the shop, the database with orders and customers, and every backup – is stored in Norwegian data centres we run ourselves, inside the EEA. No US cloud providers.
